Korčula Island

KORČULA – is known as the birthplace of Marco Polo, the famous medieval sailor and explorer. Built upon the foundations of the Greek colony ‘Korkyra’ the city is still thriving.  The city’s famous streets in the form of a fish bone, amazing local food, customs like ‘Moreška’ – the sword fight dance in the town streets preserved the long-lasting culture. Korčula is also a home to some high-quality local wines– Grk, Pošip, Plavac and Rukatac.
